What happens during an organising session?
We will start off by going through your home so that we can understand your pain points, your routines and your current systems. We will work together to set up new and functional systems that work to serve your family, home and everyday lives. We then start with different areas first decluttering, categorising and agreeing on containment (what containers you prefer and systems that can be implemented). The next step is for us to start organising and setting everything up.
What do I need to do to prepare for my organising session?
Nothing! We need to see everything the way it is normally. This helps us figure out the strengths and weaknesses of all your current systems (or lack thereof) and will allow us to create functional systems based on what we have to work with. Just be prepared to make tough (and sometimes ruthless) decisions as this helps us help you to declutter the things that no longer bring you joy. But don’t worry we respect all of your decisions and choices, and will help guide you when needed.
How do I make payment?
Payments can be made via bank transfer. Payments will need to be made in advance of your sessions and if purchasing packages, full payment will be required. For more information please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
What are your working hours?
Our standard working hours are Monday-Friday 9am-3pm. If you need us to work evenings and/or weekends we can try to accommodate this for an additional fee.
Do you work evenings/ weekends?
As standard, we do not work evenings and weekends but if you require it we can arrange this for you for an additional fee.
Do I need to be home during the organising session?
For the first session, we do recommend you are home so we can get started together and once I have all the instructions and guidance I need, you can either be at home or away from home. One thing we do ask is that we have room to work so that we can get through the session productively.
Will I need to purchase new products for the organising sessions?
We always try to work with the organising systems and products you currently have in your home, however that may not always be enough or possible. In this case we will help you source recommended products we believe will help create an organised, functional, clutter-free and stylish home. We, of course, work within your budgets and will provide you with a Product Recommendation with a full list of products that we can use. Once the products arrive we can install them in for you and organise them accordingly. We charge £125 for product sourcing & space planning prior to our first session.
Do you provide Virtual Organising?
YES! We understand that you may not be ready to have someone come into your home, or you are located outside of our service areas but still require our help. We have set up virtual organising sessions to guide you through each step as you declutter, organise and style your home yourself. I’m moving home and have no idea where to start, HELP!
Then you have come to the right place! We take care of the whole moving process for you. From decluttering and packing up your current home (and we disassemble your furniture as well) to overseeing the movers, unpacking, setting up and organising your new home. We assemble your furniture, prepare your beds and welcome you to a completely ready home for you to enjoy. Let us take care of everything for you.
How long does an organising session last?
An initial 30-minute free telephone consultation will be done over the phone or via video call where we will discuss your requirements and space(s) that need to be organised.
Once you have decided that you want to proceed with the sessions, we will do an in-home consultation where we go through all of the areas, your pain points, and requirements in more detail. This usually lasts for an hour (depending on the size of the property and spaces), allowing us to measure all of the spaces and take photographs.
Following the in-home consultation, we will produce a space plan and source the relevant products we can use to organise your space for your approval before purchase. The product sourcing & space planning fee is £125 for up to £500 in product costs.
Once the products have been ordered, we get you booked in for a 3 or 6-hour block session. Each further session needs to be booked in 3 or 6-hour blocks (our packages give you a great discount if purchased in advance).
When it comes to predicting how long a space will take to organise, this is something we are unable to do unfortunately as each space is different and depends on a number of factors from delivery of products, to decisions you need to make to the actual amount of work that will need to be done. We will provide a report at the end of each session/ package purchased notifying you of how many hours you have left and what work we have left to do.
What geographical areas do you cover?
We normally cover London and Greater London. If you live further out we can discuss your requirements and arrange travel to your home but travel charges may apply. Just send us an email and we can provide you with a quote.
How do I book an organising session?
To book in your initial telephone consultation or sessions just send us an email to info@organisinglifetoday.com with all of your details and requirements so we can contact you back within 24-48 hours. You can also use the contact us page.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes, we offer a 30-minute free initial telephone consultation which can be done either by phone or video (usually Facetime or Facebook Messenger). We use this initial consultation to discuss your requirements and answer all of your concerns and worries, and hopefully booking in your in-home consultation walk-through with Organising Life Today. This is where we go through all of the areas, your pain points and requirements in more detail. We also measure all of the spaces and take photographs in order to do the space plan and product sourcing.
